ARC Newsflash: Novi Pazar, Serbia 1062 kHz

The Serbian lowpower station on 1062 kHz at Novi Pazar (1 kW) was probably heard on the 30th of August at 1805-1845 fading in and out. At best the signal was quite good, but some QRM from RAI and Country Radio on the same frequency. The program was consisting of popmusic, Serbian folkmusic and a lot of Carneval music. The station was not in parallel with 684 kHz Belgrade. A lot of Serbian announcements talking of festival during the weekend in Novi Pazar. The city of Nis was mentioned several times. No ID during the program. The good reception probably due to the geomagnetic storm on the 30th.
A few years back the station was taken off the air due to unpaid electricity bills, but they now seems to be back on the track. (Bengt Ericson, ARC, Växjö)
